  • trevorj gets a free subdomain till he could come up with $10 that wouldn't be spent on droogs entertainment.
  • Ohenry reports SteveB's server to his ISP, resulting in the first dns switch (from SteveB to Sargas) and Ohhenry's permanent "fuck you" response in the channel.

[edit] 2005

  • After a hard drive crash we decided that we only wish to run IRC servers. Our website's content is "So long, and thanks for all the fish".
  • Sargas's Set server (300mhz cyrus machine) hosts the main website after death of Osiris
  • Rickb starts hosting an actual IRCd.
  • June - Vitk, DimaV, joe, SteveB, Cosmonaut, and friends go to a forest preserve in Wheeling, IL to have a BBQ without much of a real plan - get confronted by The Man for being there after hours (and starting a fire), thus having the 1st NeoCon
  • Mid-2005 website was an underconstruction "Neoturbine Web Development Team"
  • By Late 2005, website becomes "Neoturbine Relay Chat," containing a random assortment of our pictures, birthday counters, periodically updated server status, all copyrighted by echoline's dog under a creative commons license

    • Causing mass panic/irritation/swearing, even though Stiv2k agreed to take point on the upgrade / transition.
  • February 3 - IRC attack from about 800 randomly named clones, all from random IP addresess, at 11:19 AM EST; owner was someone with nick "MaSterS". Eric was there to initiate DEFCON, but also managed to get bombarded with 800 PMs. Attacker took them all out after about 5 minutes.
  • June 5 - First IPv6 server link was created on the IRC network between RickB (irc.rickb.net) and Eric's (eric.neoturbine.net) servers using Hurricane Electric's TunnelBroker.net service. Client connectivity via IPv6 was also implemented on both servers.
